Path of Exile Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a frequent and essential way to boost the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can be a fantastic source of damage, more AD or even more attaches.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to upgraded Common or Magic equipment due to their high demands.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be applied to weapon and armor items. They increase the stats of whatever item they are attached to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged using an expert or higher salvage kits to recover upgrades from the items.
The amount of damage that a piece of armor or weapon will absorb is contingent on the level of its upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of an item of armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important to note that this will also increase its weight, causing it to be heavier than before.
There are a variety of armor upgrades available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Certain upgrades give armor an extra amount of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade that an item will be given, as illustrated below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, as identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require charges for use. They are referred to as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges for these upgrades are updated daily or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest way to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the area and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however it is obtainable through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can give players a significant boost in stats, and are well worth the cost.
Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will greatly increase its defense capabilities but the wearer must be aware that putting more weight on it will dramatically reduce its speed and agility. This is why it is not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces above +9, because the increase in defense is generally not worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades needed.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of an weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain weapons come with special upgrades that enhance their inherent capabilities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).
Most upgrades for weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. They can be obtained by doing side quests, or killing a certain amount of monsters or bosses or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price of a set number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars you will need to complete the upgrade. The cost of the upgrades will be less if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets was a bit different. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're much better off going to stores and buying gear that has low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These will then be able to give you the most prestigious bonuses and blessings.
The majority of players will make the most of upgrades to weapons they use most frequently to make sure they are able to level up quicker. Players should also upgrade the weapons their teammates utilize to increase their power. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve a stat or provide secondary effects on weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is the process of making them, in which you combine gemstones with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the tier of the jewel has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The Jeweler can enhance the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the gem, it will provide a different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, gear and jewelry.
All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a certain level to be able to get them. Jewels can be replaced by another one without damaging the original. You can only replace the gem once within an item of equipment.
Using more jewels in the movement can make it feel more comfortable and is typically used for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and make a surface harder than steel, so that the repeated friction from pivots do not cause damage to the movement.
In addition to the above upgrades players can also obtain glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be freely exchanged, however they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange gold and Scattered Crystals. get more info can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like aegis or traits cannot be exchanged and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets can provide your hero with a variety of small, but useful advantages. They can be obtained in the areas of starting as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and by performing road interactions. They can also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased on the Trading Post.
The first trinket that a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but valuable boost in movement speed and the ability to evade. The player can then collect necklaces, amulets, and rings in a similar manner similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal or jewel upgrade. item upgrader are smaller and can be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.
These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This allows the hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also make up for the absence of excellent slots in the team or talent tree which would normally be filled by the hero's optimal stats.

In general trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace soon. Also, consider items with desirable stats that aren't as significant as the iLevel of the item that is to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade, since it's generally better to upgrade just one crucial stat than two subpar ones.
Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one prior to the start of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand, will choose a pink or green ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.
In addition to the items listed above, players will also discover other trinkets in form trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For instance, completing the main quest for a chapter or beating an opponent. You can view them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
